1. What made Tsukasa so formidable is that he knows for a fact that Senku is significantly smarter than he is. It’s never an instance of him outsmarting Senku, but was more or less always something like “I thought of that, which means you definitely thought of that” or “I’m going to plan to counter this, because as crazy as it sounds Senku is brilliant enough to create it”

2. The Japanese people have long noticed that their elders seem to shrink later in their life. It’s not necessarily true, but it’s a commonly accepted “fact” in Japanese culture.

   1. Well people do get shorter as they age, and the Japanese are workaholics so they probably do lose stature more due to back issues. Add anime to that and you get exaggerated shortness.
