  1. So the point of the whole “revealing your technique” thing is that doing so forms a sort of ‘pact’ between you and your opponent. I’m not really sure how it works, but it’s a means for them to explain away the usual anime trope of everyone monologuing to their opponent about what their powers are. But in this universe it definitely does provide a tangible power boost.

  2. Revealing your technique makes it stronger, at least in some cases, because it’s kind of a spiritual contract- give something, get something.
If you watch the first episode again, you’ll notice Megumi wonders if Itadori is ‘like Zenin’- he’s referring to Maki, who can’t see cursed spirits or energy, but has superhuman physical abilities. Itadori could see curses once there was enough cursed energy around, so he’s not exactly like her, but they probably assume his strength is because of something similar.

Fun fact 1- Gojo is 28, Nanami Kento is 27, and Ijichi (the put-upon assistant guy) is 26
Fun fact 2- Nanami’s technique using a 7:3 ratio is a reference to the stereotypical salaryman hairstyle, which is parted at a 7:3 ratio
Fun fact 3- (and super minor plot point which doesn’t translate well) ‘Mahito’ is written with the kanji for ‘bad’ and ‘person’

  3. Hahha, nobody fears the nine-tail fox anymore because everyone loves Naruto!! You probably missed Itadori’s Easter egg reference in chapter 6 of Yuyu Hakuso, Bleach and Naruto

    1. Rick recognized Yuyu Hakusho’s, none of them have seen Bleach, and it’ll be another month before they understand Naruto’s

  4. The two transfigured humans that Yuji and Nanami were fighting are most likely the Ticket Booth employee and the Janitor of the theater. When Junpei is buying his ticket the women in the ticket booth is eating food, most likely from a bento/lunch box, she is also wearing the same watch that Nanami took a picture of. Hence why the one transfigured human said “Lunch Box”. The other transfigured human said “Good Detergent” and if you notice when Junpei runs out of the theater there is janitor equipment and what looks to appear to be a janitors uniform just laying on the ground.

    1. That’s similar to Hunter x Hunter and the bomber guy’s ability in the Greed Island arc.
The mangaka for this series must have been inspired by the Hunter x Hunter magic system since there are several similarities between these two power systems, some of which I can’t even name because of spoilers.

  5. Since cursed techniques are born from the mind, by revealing your technique it becomes more powerful because your enemy now understands its strength, but the gamble is that now they might be able to avoid it or develop a counter attack. It’s actually a pretty brilliant piece of writing on the mangaka’s part since a big part of anime is explain your technique this makes it have an in-universe reason to always explain your power.

  6. When they reveal their techniques it does make the technique stronger as well as a tactical advantage for instance say your technique lets you freeze an existing source of water by specifying existing source and telling it you can possibly freeze water at a faster rate or to a larger quantity having revealed it to your opponent
