1. I think the landmines don’t necessarily only blow up when a lifeform is on it. I think, like real landmines, they will always blow up. It just delays it when it’s not activated by a non-lifeform as a failsafe.

2. I’ve just had a thought watching this episode with you. All the episodes from Wild blue yonder up to this one, all of the episode titles have been spoken by the characters in it. I know that isn’t an unusual practice and Doctor who has done it many times before. But this is 6 episodes on the go, and knowing what the next is called, i’m fairly certain that will be spoken out loud too. Which leads me to a theory that somehow, sometime they have been in an alternate reality / reality TV show. That would help to explain all the 4th wall breaks. Also why this season is fantasy based rather than the usual sci fi. Said while wearing my tin foil theory hat.
