1. This episode really does showcase how talented Gaara’s voice actor is. He voices a character in another show (Ukitake from Bleach) who is a super mellow, affable dude. It’s pretty wild having just come from hearing him play that role, to change over to Gaara’s guttural screams.

2. They are not logs is just substitution. When someone throws a knife they just switch positions with a log. They are not a log fighting ??

3. I guess you could think about substitution more like teleportation in a way? You’re taking a nearby object and switching places with it.

5. Subsitution Jutsu was explained in the 5th or 4th episode something about that. Simply said its a Jutsu were the Person changes his Position and in the same time replacing the Position were the Person was originally earlier with for example a log xD. It is Meta in OG but not in Shippuden lets say this.
