1. When episode 17 released, the author (Tappei Nagatsuki) made a comment to clarify that Emilias mother is a human who married a man of elven origin from Elior Forest. Whether that lets you exclude some options or not, it definitely explains her only being a half-elf is bc her mother was of human nature making her half-human too.
