On April 1st, 2025 (around 5AM ET) we’ll be launching some major updates to Blindwave.com. These new features have been designed to reward Wave Riders who use the site to support us: whether that’s by watching our videos, going Beyond, or by being a part of our amazing community.
What are Winks?
First, let me introduce you to the Winks* system! You can think of Winks as a kind of XP you earn by using the site. You can earn winks by visiting the site every day, and you earn bonus winks for each consecutive day that you visit. There are many other ways to earn winks, so try to discover them all!
*Why are they called Winks? Have you ever noticed that the Blind Wave logo resembles an eye? When one eye closes, it’s called a wink. Winks are therefore the name of the currency in the closed virtual economic system for blindwave.com. Is that some Hint Hunt logic or what? ;D
Leveling Up
Earning Winks will level up your profile. The higher your level, the more weight each of your recommendations are given. Also, each even-numbered level unlocks a new recommendation slot. You achieve level 2 after earning 100 Winks. Note that spending Winks does not affect your level.
*Going Beyond also adds weight to your recommendations!
Spending Winks
Boost a recommendation slot by 1 point for 30 days. – 500 winks (Also note that your first slot is always weighted more!)
Unlock a Beyond Video (no planned expiration date). – 750 winks NOTE: you don’t need winks to unlock the videos your Beyond or Patreon access already grants you.
Open a Blind Wave card booster pack which contains three random cards. – 100 Winks
You can also spend Winks to vote in future special polls where whichever option has the most Winks wins. These are not replacing Beyond polls to replace shows or movies. We have some fun ideas for some Wink polls, but let us know if you have any ideas!
Blind Wave Virtual Trading Cards
You can spend Winks to open booster packs that contain three random cards. There are 50 to collect in the launch set, with more sets planned in the future. Can you collect them all?
You can trade cards with other users! Create a trade offer and choose which cards you want to trade and the cards you want to trade for. Accept and reject trade offers on the card trades page: you can also opt out of card trades on this page as well.
Achievements
Unlock achievements, which often come with a Wink bonus! You can view your achievements on your profile page, and you can see other users’ achievements on their profile pages. Can you earn them all?

Not sure if liking videos is supposed to earn winks. But each time I like a video it goes up by 5 winks but when I click away from the video to another page the 5 winks disappear. Just letting y’all know not sure if that’s normal

This wink system is really odd I gotta have 700 + to watch one video ? I can’t watch anything now till I get more winks so my patreon sub is null then till I get more winks I’m so confused
You only need winks to unlock videos if you aren’t already a subscriber with access. Your paid access still works the same as before. Think of it like if you can’t afford a sub, then you can at least unlock ONE Neil Breen Full Length with winks lol

I mean I just opened the app and I already have like 130 so just watch a video or 2 every day
Yeah I don’t get that part. We are suppose to get 4 videos early access that’s what we are paying for but now we have to earn winks to unlock those videos? Or are they some sort of special videos, like one piece is suppose to be 2 a week on Saturday, the 15 dollar tier only gets you one. But then still they need to explain that better
If you are paying for Foursight or Beyond then you won’t need the winks to unlock anything- people who can’t afford or don’t want to pay for that access now have a way to exchange winks that can be earned for doing some activities on the website to unlock access to a full-length reaction. if you don’t need that because you are already a subscriber then feel free to use winks for card packs or unlocking/putting extra weight on your recommendation slots- or don’t engage with it at all if you prefer. Hope that helps clear things up!

And even as someone that just renewed beyond for another year i just want to say it’s awesome you’re creating an option to rarely allow people that can’t afford it to unlock a specific video they’ve been looking forward to if they are active enough
