Great watch, providing what may be Eric’s best facial expression. Slightly disappointed it wasn’t the Director’s Cut with the colonist scene and whatnot but still a great time.
There was another Terminator link in this one. Janett Vasquez played by Jenette Goldstein who was also Janelle, Johns foster mother in T2.
I don’t know what Aaron’s talking about. There is no Alien 3.
This one of the most tired “jokes” on the internet.
It never happens but when my home state of Nebraska is mentioned in entertainment I gives me pride, but then immediately followed by the question “why Nebraska specifically” were like the state that gets forgotten the most. But always appreciated none the less.
This movie drop made my day! I was about to watch it on my own. Woooooo!
Had to become a member the second I saw this. Aliens is phenomenal and I absolutely cannot wait for the Romulus Reaction!
Edit: Holy shit we need a Prometheus reaction too
James Cameron really out here making a 1980s movie look better than anything cg has ever done.
Aww man, you guys messed up and didn’t watch the directors cut.
No, this is the better version, and there is no directors cut. There an extended version that Cameron says is worse, that’s why they cut out Riley’s daughter and the start of of the movie. It would ruin it to see the colony before hand(which is why they cut it). Longer doesn’t equal better, and the scenes they cut were bad scenes that made the movie worse
I disagree. I think seeing the colony, seeing all the people and especially all the kids, makes my feeling of dread worse. The normal version they turn up and I see what I expected, everything torn up and broken and I have imagine the colonists. The extended edition, I see that and I think of the children that were shown, how scared they must of been and what their fate is. I find that more ominous and fear inducing.
I disagree. It adds to the dread of seeing everybody thriving before the encounter of the Aliens. Also knowing that Ripley had a daughter and she lost the opportunity to ever see her again, it makes her and Newts relationship that much more special. Especially because Newt lost her parents as well. And like Aaron said, you also get the scenes of the auto turret guns showing just how bad things can be even with all the weapons they have.
You can disagree all you want, that’s James Cameron’s quote on it and yes a better film maker than you, if he says it’s the worse version, than it objectively is. You can like the idea of what it represents, but it’s shittily done in the movie, especially if you compare it to future franchise entries that do that 100x better
That’s not what objective means.
False. LINK REMOVED
I have the nine disc box set and the special edition of Aliens starts with James Cameron saying he prefers it.
“What you’re about to watch is the special edition of Aliens. I actually prefer this version to the release version because as I think it’s been best described by one of my friends, it’s forty miles of bad road and I think it’s a longer, more intense, and more suspenseful version of the film…”
Now, if he changed his mind, or if he was forced to say that, I have no idea.
If anything makes me go pirate, it’s when I want to watch a reaction to a movie that I already own, but not in that version lol
Happens way too often. Hypothetically. In Minecraft.
Eric hasn’t seen Aliens!!! Can’t wait for his Romulus reaction
Curse of the were-rabbit would be a fun spooky movie
