Fawlty Towers 1×2 Reaction

1. Black Books, Green Wing, and Spaced are some of my fave BritComs, but all of the above mentioned are gems in their own ways. Could we pls get a britcom poll going like you do for anime and movies? It’s a genre that deserves a time slot, and the guys would enjoy it, I think!

2. I’m here for all of these reactions – Eric and Rick laughing non stop. It’s the best. I haven’t stopped smiling myself. The man who played O’Reilly is most known to Americans from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but I loved him in Waking Ned Devine, one of my absolute favorite movies.

3. Has there ever been a more frantic sitcom? I don’t think so

4. That’s it. It’s confirmed! Eric loves British comedy. So…I have a huge list for him, then! (In no particular order, just when they popped into my head.)

   Red Dwarf
   Blackadder
   Father Ted
   Keeping Up Appearances
   Only Fools and Horses
   Absolutely Fabulous
   Are You Being Served?
   The Vicar of Dibley
   Chef!
   The IT Crowd
   The Brittas Empire
   Green Wing
   Motherland
Ghosts (Yes, the UK version. With many of the best US comedies (ex: The Office), they came from the UK first.)
   Plebs
   The Inbetweeners
   Dad’s Army

Pick any one of them and watch them. As a reaction or as personal entertainment, either one. You won’t be disappointed.

1. You forgot Last of The Summer Wine – the longest running british comedy. It went for 30 years and honestly is more or less about these guys in 30 years.

5. I have never seen Eric laugh so hard and much. Rick I think I have. Welcome to british comedy. 😀

6. If you love this type of humor, you should try Allo’Allo and only fool’s and horse’s. Great BBC classic’s.
