I loved this movie, I thought it was fun and kind of refreshing and OMG when the shield, music and Chris Evans popped up I lost it! My favorite part of the movie! Too bad he didn’t come on one more time. And the first time you see Millie in the game and she’s talking to that masked guy I swear it sounds like Hugh Jackman and I wouldn’t be surprised if Dwayne Johnson voiced someone too because not too long ago Ryan Reynolds posted several pictures of him and his friends on Instagram and I am assuming they all were apart of the movie someway.
I was so happy to watch this. FOR ME* it was a complete movie. It was fun and had a bit of everything. Never caught that “Steve” was the Blue Shirt guy, too…. Even though I caught everything else. The IP in this movie really blew my mind, I guess Ryan is just the Golden Child <3
This movie had some weak points that it covered a lot, like Eric said.
I do feel like the weakest part, despite the popoff from the blindwave crew, was the fight with Dude. Like they said, they were really just flexing their acquisitions and that feels… pretty bad, tbh. Just “hey check out this reference.” And I get that it wasn’t long and that it didn’t end the fight, but it really just felt like it didn’t need to be there.
And I couldn’t agree more. It uses style and shiny things to cover up the lack of substance and storytelling. Along with the comedy being very run of the mill, some of the dialogue being very cringe, and having to suspend my disbelief a little too much at times with most of the video game stuff. even though Ryan’s charisma is the saving grace of most of his films I didn’t particuarly enjoy it.
not hating cause “fantasy” is one of my favorite mariah songs but dang they played it a lot lol. they must have paid a TON for it. gonna have to watch this again cause i zoned out a bit after he got away from the “cops”. all the real world stuff didnt work for me. i just want to live in the video game world alone but not my movie so……………
Apart from the stereotypical male-bashing, it was a very fun movie. Ryan Reynolds was actually not too over the top and Taika was awesome. I hope more people get to see it. Disney flexing its acquisitions there nicely.
female empowerment is done TASTEFULLY here, is your cishet macho male ego that fragile that we can’t celebrate bad ass women without your big mac sauce tears falling on your keyboard? Come on man, its 2021 lol.

Tina Fey was the voice of the mom. Dwayne Johnson, Hugh Jackman, and John Krasinski voiced other characters. I still love Chris Evans’ cameo the most.

Enjoyed it more than I thought I would have
Forgot to mention, I was also terrified that he’d get “Meet Joe Black” ‘d at the very end. Since Ryan caught it proper in the movie, too.

I couldn’t disagree more. Those moments got some of the biggest cheers and laughs in the theater. And who’s to say when that was added.

Male bashing? I didn’t get that at all from this movie.
Stereotypical male bashing? Seriously? Haha

Respectfully, wth are you on about Barry
Excited comment!
How they thought it came out years ago?
Because it was supposed to be released July 2020 before the pandemic. And the first trailer was in 2019… So it wasn’t a bad assumption.
next halloween kills and Batman a long halloween
This movie was such a delightful surprise! I love this movie.
