To make sense of what Kenjaku did at the end of S2, he needed Mahito to reach his max potential to then absorb him, and use his ability to alter the brains of the people of japan so they may be able to use cursed energy and have techniques. Kinda like Junpei from S1 where mahito helped him access his cursed technique, that poison jellyfish Shikigami. It varies between people where you might have a Higuruma with a domain expansion, or the girl with the scorpion tail hair who’s not that powerful.

   The second thing he did was activate and awaken all the cursed objects that had been implanted within people. Like how Sukunas finger awakened Sukuna within Yuji, the same thing would happen to all these people. Resurrecting ancient sorcerers as they take over the hosts bodies (it’s unlikely the hosts would be able to fight back control like Yuji could). These ancient sorcerers had made pacts with Kenjaku in the past to be made into those cursed objects.

Forced confessions through beatings, planted evidence from police, refusing to acknowledge DNA test results as ‘real scientific evidence’. Judges and cops in Japan can never be wrong about who they say is the guilty criminal. Their society norms require them to always be viewed as correct and capable of no wrong.

1. Is it weird, that Calvin always so quick to go to the “It’s probably a translation thing.” I notice he’s been saying that a lot, whenever things don’t make sense in anime.

1. Tbf it is very common in anime for things to not make sense because of translation, The JJK manga had many instances of things that were straight up mistranslated in the official translation and led to much confusion in the fanbase.
