In the episode White Rabbit when Joanne drowned, Charlie never said I can’t or don’t know how to swim but said “i don’t swim.” That’s completely different, you can know how to swim bur not well.I know how to swim but I guarantee I wouldn’t be able to swim in the ocean and save a person, hell Boone who was a lifeguard almost drowned and also Desmond had to save Claire when she almost drowned because he saw Charlie die trying to save her. He lied to Jack, he knew Jack wouldn’t let him go down there without assuring him that he could make it.
