Tiny weenie bit disappointed that you’re reacting to a movie Blind Wave already reviewed 6 years ago… instead of you know… continuing the franchise that started it all: where you left us at You Only Live Twice over 10 months ago… At this rate the ETA for No Time To Die is Q3 2040! I’m dying here! 🙁 😉

   Don’t get me wrong: MI Fallout is without doubt my favorite one of that franchise, but everytime I watch it (or any other MI movie) I can’t help but spotting 5-10-15-20 things of which I think “hah! Bond did that 5-10-20-30-40-50 years ago!” Yet MI usually gets the credit, simply because people aren’t familiar enough with the Bond movies. For example: The HALO jump in Fallout is amazing it truly is, however people forget that a pretty similar scene is in Moonraker (1979 – no CGI yet available mind you) and the first onscreen HALO jump was in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997 – again practical, no CGI or other trickery as in MI). Perhaps it’s true that Americans have this thing against Bond because it’s too British/European, and simply therefore have more of a connection with Tom Cruise. All I know is that the Bond movies were for 60 years a huge success allover the world, yet the producers always felt that in all those decades they never really succeeded in “conquering the US market” like they did pretty much everywhere else.
