Its called roshambeau cos of some french guy with no relation to the game (he was a miltary guy), it originated in china, in mandarin its jian dao, shi tao, bu (scissors rock cloth) pronounced, then it travelled to japan as Jon Ken Pon, then somewhere along the way went to US & became roshambo, I also know in korean its kawi bawi bo (said kai, bye, bo)
