2. so the promotion/relegation system is.. a little bit different than what you described. basically, in the current system, when you win, you get 3 points, when you tie each team gets 1 and when you lose you don’t get any points. every team plays every other team twice across a season and the 3 teams with the least points get relegated, while the first team of the highest league wins (in this case man city, which they mentioned when they called them champions) (also the number of teams that get relegated is different in each country, depends how many teams are in a league). in the lower leagues it’s the same for relegation, but the top 3 teams get promoted instead of winning anything.. there’s also a play-off system involved, but that’s too complicated to get into rn.. so to summarize, the only thing richmond need to do, is to be in the top 3 of the championship next season!

3. There are 4 tiers of professional football leagues in England, Top 3 teams in each league get promoted and bottom 3 get relegated. So Richmond are now in the Championship which is the 2nd tier of English Pro leagues.
