3. I have an Artificer/Fighter character in a D&D campaign who became upset at a magical book who was possessing an innocent NPC. With an innocent on the line, I couldn’t be openly hostile and opted to annoy the book, so I decided that gaslighting the magical bookkeeper spirit thing was the best approach. The DM found my gaslighting so effective that he forgot to ask for deception rolls. Since then, gaslighting has been a go-to tool for that character’s social encounters, which has included a number of other magical items of ill intent.
