I know Look Back is likely to win, so let’s give Suzume a little push. I agree w/ Mr Stuff Doer though that having background knowledge about what it references makes it hit harder. However, I didn’t have that knowledge and still loved watching it when it was in theaters.

Honestly WWY was so much better than Suzume, Suzume feels so much like a “you have to have experienced what it’s a commentary on” type movie. The lesser OST doesn’t help my opinion of it. The goddamn main song doesn’t even play in the movie.
