1. This is one of those episodes where you can tell that even though Mcelhenney is from Philly none of them really know the area that well. They talk about the “Jersey shore” exclusively in stereotypes of the NORTH Jersey shore. They’re in Philly, which means they’d be heading to the South Jersey shore, which not only just has better beaches (iirc it has something to do with the type of sand, don’t really get the why as I just dislike the ocean in general, but you can definitely feel it when you’re there) but also is just a lot nicer from an infrastructure or societal point of view or whatever you’d call it. AC does suck since it’s a casino hub and tourist attraction, but there are tons of nice beaches in SJ.

   Still absolutely love the episode though.

1. I don’t think they are really going for accuracy tbf, even if I were writing a show set in my hometown (which I love), I would lean into the Appalachian/midwestern/Northern stereotypes to write it. It wouldn’t be much of an IASIP episode if The Gang went to the Jersey Shore and had a sane, pleasant vacation.
