I’ll say out of the like 100 reactions of this film I’ve watched over the week you guys are the only ones that got the Close Encounters reference.
All the more reason glad I’ve watched and supported you guys for like 10+ years!
Gravity is another great thriller space movie, story is not nearly as good as Project Hail Mary. However, the visuals and music are alone worth the watch!
I’m not much of a crier but seeing you guys well up, gets me every time.
I was glad that I listened to the Audiobook before the film!
Way more science in the book and explains a lot more.
For example explains that Rocky has been stuck in the system for 46 years not sure what to do because he is an engineer and not a science eridian. Also that his people on average live 600-700 years.
In all fairness, he did have enough fuel to return home, so he could’ve after his crew passed away to bring more scientists back to Tau Ceti. It makes more sense for him to have been there for a more reasonable shorter amount of time, maybe trying to figure it out on his own, and then Ryland showing up.
Wish the normal crew was reacting to more instead of always having Jake replacing someone. Not that I really dislike him, just wanted to see Calvin and rick react to this.
I agree, it was a great movie
Calvin saw it in the theater.
So did Jake.
Jake did too?
Calvin and I both were in the spoiler review we did when it came out in theaters.
I like you here Jake, although, it would’ve been cool to have the other guys here alongside you as well!!
I agree and there’s a specific reason besides me preferring the og crew – Jake almost ruined a very emotional scene. Eric and Aaron were fully into the scene and felt the emotion when Rocky told Grace that he could give him enough astrophage so he can go home. It was so emotional and Jake interrupted it with “this shot is so good.” There was no need to say that in that moment. Otherwise it was a great reaction.
You’re watching a reaction and mad at me for reacting honestly to a scene?
Their comment is silly lmao. Loved your reaction! Keep up the good work
Soley constructive criticism from me here, not trying to be a hater… but I do agree y’all should be prioritizing the first time watchers reactions over the second time watchers comments.
Agree, would have been nice to have the full squad, but i assume scheduling problems and life gets in the way sometimes, which is okay.
I didn’t have high hopes since we don’t see him much anymore, but I was hoping for Rick, I think this is something he’d enjoy.
I never replace anyone, I am only an add on to who was already going to do a thing if it was getting done.
Sorry, then what I meant was just that it sucks we would only have 2 crew members for so many reactions nowadays. It’s better your there, but still, you can’t honestly believe that if you weren’t able to come in to do reactions they would constantly be doing 2 man reactions right?
They have done two man’s plenty when necessary not sure why you think that’s not a possibility. If we can get more folks in a react we should be glad for there inclusion not whining about who’s not there.
Calvin was out this week with family planned vacation and it was our only free spot to do a movie, he intended to come in for PHM and The Boys finale but was sick that day. Rick is already basically at his limit of recording schedule and I just would not expect him in live action stuff really at all going forward.
Id be too petty and not tell earth how fix the sun but i would let them know i found out how to lmao
Didn’t expect you all to get to this so quickly, so happy that you managed to fit it in. Loved the total excitement on Eric’s face as it first got started, you can see the little kid in him loving all things space.
Usually for adaptations there are major story changes, but for this one it is basically entirely cuts for time. All of the questions/nitpick type things toward the end of the discussion are addressed in the book. Watch the movie for the positive human spirit story, read the book to get all the details.
Yeah, Andy Weir said the one scene he wishes they had time for in the film was nuking Antarctica to give Earth more time.
