Genuinely, if I was Gwayne I would kill and EAT Criston for making me go through this shit
With all the hidden paths in the castle, it’s very easy for a bunch of assassins to slip in and out of the darkness after committing a foul deed.
If only they had bright lights and motion sensors!
Ultimately, I think it’s Ormund who is scheming to take out the men loyal to Daemon in order to hurt the Blacks. I don’t think someone who sees themselves as a scholar and a big brain warrior like Ormund would resort to using magic. More likely he has spies and assassins in the Red Keep.
Upon watching y’alls reaction I just got a theory. I wonder if Ormund Hightower hired the Faceless Men of Bravos to kill the Gold cloaks. The haunting deaths are reminiscent of the faceless man kills from season 2 of GoT.
My guess is that the newer gold cloaks, who are more interested in money than empty promises, are killing off the old guard who were loyal to Daemon because they still remember him from 20 years ago. Unless I’m mistaken, the man who sent the letter to Ormund Hightower was actually a member of the Team Green army who was present on the walls of the Red Keep when Alicent ordered the men to stand down and allow the Black’s dragons to enter the city. It’s probably him rallying together the disgruntled inhabitants of King’s Landing, whether they be gold cloaks or regular smallfolk, to help whittle down Rhaenyra’s forces.
Whoever did it is a real psychopath. Similar to whoever decided to put yellow subtitles over yellow candles when Daemon and Rhaenyra were talking in Valerian. Why would they do that!?
Why does everyone want Harrenhal?!?!?! As Layrys Strong said, “That castle is more crippled than I am.” Not to mention its haunted! Even 200 years later, Petyr Baelish was mad he was denied the castle.
Even though Harrenhal is kind of a Ruin and haunted etc It still is the biggest Castle in Westeros and the land it sits upon is worth a fortune, but some say there is a curse put upon it when weirwood trees were cut down during its construction, Many have lived there but no one has managed to keep a hold of it, so there may well be a curse who really knows.
