Is your current favorite moment of House of the Dragon from season 3?

  1. My favourite moment is probably still Viserys ascending the throne in 1×08 and Daemon helping him up the steps and placing the throne on his head, the best two episodes are probably either 2×02 (aftermath of Blood and Cheese, ratcatchers, Erryk vs Arryk) and 3×03 (the Rhaenyra pov episode).

  2. I enjoyed all the seasons, but seasons 2 and 3 were the most memorable for me. It’s all been very exciting and entertaining.

    See you in 2028!

  3. Tommy Flanagan played Ser Roderick Dustin (Roddy the Ruin) and did not play Cregan Stark. Cregan Stark is played by younger actor Tom Taylor and was last seen in the season 2 episode 1. Cregan Stark should appear back later in the series.

  4. Everyone is being pretty tough on Season 3, but I have to say some of my favourites moments have been in this season. The Battle of the Gullet in episode one, the dragon battles, and the deaths of the Winter Wolves are definitely some of the best action sequences I have seen in a while.

  5. I’m not rooting for any of these people, at this point. I only liked Helaena, Hugh, Daeron and Gawayne (a bit…this season). I still like the White Worm, but everyone else are either terrible people outright or are becoming terrible people out of circumstance. I feel like there are no good choices and I don’t care who sits on the Iron Throne. Whoever does, will be terrible because the power is what they crave above all and will have done terrible things to get there. I understand Rhaenyra feels she has an obligation, but the responsibility is making her descend and become the opposite of what she’s trying to be. I assumed this would happen at the beginning of the show and it’s not fun for me to watch the descent. I don’t love Aegon, ’cause he was a terrible person before he was anointed (sired a lot of bastards and chucked them in fighting pits), but he has a legitimate beef with Aemond and it is satisfying seeing him coming back against the odds, but I’m not rooting for him to be king ’cause…he’s a terrible person. So, I’m, in attitude, closer to where Ulf is, but he even burned everyone indiscriminately. But, that IS the rage of the common folk and I get it. Basically, it’s the equivalent of people rioting. A lot of innocents get hurt, which is why the people in charge should take care to not let things get to that point with the common folk.

I did not look forward to any episodes this season, in the sense that it felt more like a chore to get back into this show. It was before the season even started that I wasn’t looking forward to it. I’m not putting it on the show. It’s probably my personal attitude changing. Coming up on every episode, I felt like, “Ugh, guess I gotta watch this,” and sometimes I’d wait the whole week until right before the next episode. Again, I can’t say it’s the show’s fault, I’m just not feeling it anymore so I probably won’t watch next season. This is the only reaction for this season I watched ’cause I was curious what these guys thought about this, but didn’t care about it enough to watch anyone else’s reactions to this show. The only GoT show I care about now is “A Knight of the Nine Kingdoms,” ’cause it’s a smaller story, focused on a couple of characters and not so much about the politics of power here, in this world.

  6. While Sunfyre rising from the dead is up there, my favorite moment is still just seeing Vhagar take flight in S1. That sense of scale & power was awe inspiring, which sucks because I don’t really look forward to this show anymore, all of the leading characters are awful and the characters I care about(the dragons) are caught in the middle of petty bullshit and die horribly. I’m really just here to see these glorious beast’s indentured servitude end, even though it won’t end well.

  7. Loved this episode and I really do wish it was 10 episode seasons because I think 8 is just an awkward spot for pacing.
I dont think anything can match S1 but thats just because it was way more tightly packed and polished. It had the excitement of the time skips and meeting new characters, learning new things and the tension of Vissy T(when will he die) whereas now its just absolute chaos constantly and everyone is on the edge of death and exhausted and its rough.

Daemon stays my favourite character also its god damn 6am I have been up all night and was literally about to sleep but I guess now im watching this before I sleep…

  8. Pretty solid season. Had some similar issues that season 2 had, characters being stuck at Harrenhal the whole time, characters actions or fates seemingly pointless to the overall story. Now, I say this as a non book reader so maybe it was originally written that way. I liked it more than season 2, but still less than season 1. Excited to see the final season and very glad to have season 2 of Knight of the Seven Kingdoms early next year!

    1. Characters being stuck in one place is just what happens in the book, what makes it even harder for the adaptation is that there’s no detail for what actually happens to the characters while there. All we know about Aemond’s time at Harrenhal is that he meets this mysterious woman named Alys and decides to make her his wife and have children with her, that’s basically all we get and the show has to make up everything else.
