3. Nobody’s brought this up because it is a disgusting thought but the easiest way for Eric to prove his argument which is correct. Can the hive mind consent to children to have sex?They said all affection is welcome and they cannot hurt humans. If one of the 12 immune people is a pedophile can the hive mind consent to children in the hive mind having sex and is that rape? You have your answer

4. I think the consent question is very complex. Do billions of people still exist, or does one person exist with billions of meat puppets, with the memories of all of the dead people that existed before?

   Problematic either way, but less so in the second since the people that previously existed are dead.

5. Look at the consent this way. If that guy was some weird pervert and wanted little boys or girls to be part of his harem they would say yes. This never would have happened before. Or if he wanted to have sex with a close family member they never would have said yes but in the hivemind it would not be refused. If you put it in that perspective it becomes a lot grosser

1. But isn’t one of the primary reasons why pedophilia is gross is because children are not developed, not fully grown or aware of the world, unable to consent, and always on the wrong end of a power imbalance?
   In this scenario, those situations are more or less resolved.
   We laugh at Laxmi for claiming her child is still her child, but then we still act like the children have some innocence when they’re joined to the Pluribus.

   To be clear, I still think it’d be gross and inhumane for someone to want to have sex with a child ANY circumstances, I’m just wondering about how the actual ethical considerations change when the child is the equivalent of a full adult and can consent.

1. What is your qualification of an adult that can consent. What about the teenagers that have had parents die and thus have to start working early paying bills early, operating as an adult for their family. 17 year old girl lost both her parents now has to work and take care of her younger siblings while organizing the family finances etc. That 100% happening in the world right now. That girl is more mature than I am, I couldn’t do all that currently. That girl also cannot consent to sex with a 26 year old at 17 but in my eyes that is a little girl carrying out the full functions and responsibilities of an adult

6. I think the pilot thing was a response to Carol being vocally and visibly anxious about a civilian piloting a plane. They simply flew someone in who, for Carol, was at least ‘experienced’ in the original human way of perceiving things. It wasnt necessay or safer, but it looked more comfortable for Carol. Maybe it even goes as deep as menaurism, like the classic ”uhhh” pilots make while passing information, that’s not something the hive does. They all have the same cadence, same way of speaking, but that pilot didn’t, and maybe that was for Carol.

1. I find it interesting they’re predicting what she wants with the pilot. Cause with basically everything else they’re extremely literal. If Carol requests it they take it literally, if she doesn’t request it they don’t consider it

7. I think Arin makes a really good point. If you could take an indevidual and revert them to how they were before. And then ask them how it was in the hivemind, what would they say?
   If they said they hated it, then its proof that the hivemind “converts” their thinking
