– Female Pikachu having hearts on their tails didn’t begin until Gen 4, so you’re gonna see female Pikachu with “normal tails” until then
– Trivia: The English dub makes it sound as though Gary and Ash are meeting each other for the first time when the latter bumps into him while in a rush, while the Japanese makes it clear that Gary and Ash already know each other. This resulted in an inconsistency in two future episodes, which both depicted flashbacks to Ash and Gary interacting with each other sometime prior to their first day of their Pokémon journeys.

OG Pokemon which i consider Indigo, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are the best since ash keeps a lot of the same pokemon through out all of those series and switches in old pokemon occasionally. A lot of the same recurring characters and Ash brings back favorites to fight in battles and the tournaments through out all of these. But Indigo League/Johto is still the best. After Indigo the best is probably XY because Ash actually matures quite a bit in that series and even has a love interest subplot that none of the other shows do. Black and white is not very good and after xy i haven’t watched
I can see why you would see it that way; the art style stays like that til Sinnoh too (obviously with digital & CGI advancements). But officially the Original Series is Kanto, Orange Islands & Johto.

Man, I didn’t think I’d rewatch any Pokemon stuff till I had kids of my own….But here I am, 24 years old, with the original Pokemon I grew up watching when I was Kanan and Coleson’s age; Hope you three have a good watch!
