1. This episode shows real life fish in the Cerulean City Gym, marking the second time an actual animal was shown in the show (episode 1 showed Pidgey eating a worm). Indigo League showed & mentioned real world animals as the idea was that 151 Pokemon co-existed along with real world animals, but as more games released which led to more seasons, real world animals (including mentions of them) were phased out so that all creatures we see are Pokemon. So for example, Cerulean City Gym in a present day episode might show Luvdisc & Remoraid in the tanks instead.
