1. Even though Ash says it’s been 2 months since he started his journey (he started his journey on his 10th birthday) in “Black & White” Episode 1 (Unova region) it’s explicitly said that Ash is still 10 & that ALL his journeys (Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Kanto Battle Frontier & Sinnoh) all still happened, meaning he did all of that in less than 12 months. It really messes with the timeline. I wish they had kept Ash’s age vague or at least aged him up to 12. Speaking of Ash, this episode is also the first (and as of now, only) time he’s shown to be attracted to someone.

   Brock is also attracted to Giselle in this episode, marking the first (and as of now, only) time he’s been attracted to someone younger than him. (Brock is about 15 while Giselle is 10 according to the Japanese version.) In the Japanese version he says he looks forward to when she’s 18, which is very creepy coming from a 15 year old looking at a 10 year old. 4Kids changed the line to “She can violate my rights any time” and also removes the references to Brock and Giselle’s age, turning a creepy line into a line that people genuinely laugh at.
