Really hope you guys watch Blue Eye Samurai (Netflix), it’s set in the Edo period of Japan. The story & soundtrack are great but the animation is absolutely gorgeous & IMO has some of the best fight choreography I’ve ever seen animated or live action. I guarantee you’ll thank me for the recommendation.
I’m not 100%, but I understood that the Heir’s mother was sent to her SISTER, who was due to have a baby. The heir’s mother is considered to be the hostage, not the sister. The sister was one of the six marriages that Toranaga Yoshii accepted to increase his connections and influence.
