So about the prophecy, it is not a feature of any of the books but there is The World of Ice and Fire (basically the lore book) so there is a somewhat detailed history of the almost 300 year rule of the Targaryens, so there may be teases for us book fans on future events in the history that we may never even see in any show.
I don’t think they’ll split up egg will find some reason to keep dunk around
I hope egg stays with dunk. They have good chemistry
I really thought they were going to make Egg’s secret last the whole season and make it like a big cliffhanger… I’m glad they didn’t insult their fans intelligence by doing that!
Eric you may have combined two incidents: it was Henri II of France who died of a lance splinter in the eye, but he lingered for 10 days, not years (understandably this lessened the popularity of jousting in France afterwards). Henry VIII got knocked out at a joust and was unconcious for hours and got a leg wound that never healed, it’s theorized by some to have affected his mental state for the last 11 years of his life. Either way- jousting is only great in movies for me!
I would be disappointed if they were to split up
I don’t see the danger right now in Egg being Duncan’s squire.
I recommend watching Screen Crush’s review of this episode. He explains the prophecy completely. He doesn’t include spoilers for this show, but does reveal the history of the time between Dunk & Egg and the time of GoT.
