Really looking forward to the next episode… but also bracing for some emotional damage. In true GOT fashion, if you’re honorable, you’re basically doomed!
I have a feeling Dunk’s group will suffer the hardest blows — fingers crossed Prince Baelor makes it through.
That drop of the main theme, for the first time in the show… I almost squealed out loud watching it for the first time, even though I know the plot. This show has been such an incredibly pleasant surprise. I was really skeptical for some probably unfair reason, but this has exceeded all my expectations. And the casting is absolutely brilliant, with no faces I recognise from anywhere else, except Lyonel. See, Hollywood? You can cast unknown actors and have them be fantastic! It is possible!
I hope the Dunk and Egg actors are looking at very bright future careers, they deserve it.
Seeing this discussion section, I’m thinking I’ve spent too long out of Westeros, I’m back to expecting good things for the people I love and am probably being set up to be devastated again. And yet I hold out hope.
Sir steffon should die as karma for saying he would fight for dunk then switching sides
Raymun will Ser Steffon and it will be glorious!
(I was hoping you asked how will die so I could make Aaron say “SIX SEVEN!”)
I truly believe Prince Baelor will die on Duncans side. Game of Thrones is notorious for killing off the honorable and well-liked characters. I predict that Prince Aerion will be the one to kill Lord Baelor. Most likely in a cheap or cowardly way. Perhaps he will become enraged at his uncle for “going against the dragon” and catch him off-guard from the side.
I completely agree. I figured he’s going to be the great dragon that Daeron dreamt about.
I am so mad that what happens got spoiled for me yet it makes me so much more angry and anxious about witnessing it in episode 5…
I fear for Lyonel. He’s just too likeable, and we all know what likeability gets you in this world.
Also, I like how the show plays with the ambiguity of Dunk having been knighted. The show hasn’t given a solid answer but offers clues, like Dunk hesitating while Lyonel says “Any knight can make a knight.” And during his speech he says Arlan “taught me how to *be* a knight” – not that he “make me a knight” or “knighted me.” The writing is top-notch!
I’m more worried for Ser Duncan’s side. I’m sure Prince Baelor and Lord Lyonel have received the best martial training money can buy, but the rest of his fellow fighters consist of a man with a broken leg, a boy knighted out of necessity, a redshirt, and a man with one eye riding a horse wearing a burlap sack for armour.
I don’t know because for me the kings guard are kind of red shirt, but on the other side there was at least 3 to 4 that I think can die.
