Man, the scene where Buck yells for the medic gets me every time. Neal McDonough acted that scene out so well, as well as after with his “thousand yard stare”. The incoming artillery scenes are some of the most hectic and stress inducing scenes I’ve ever seen in a war film. What an amazing episode!
i’ll just say what i always say when people talk about Dike, yes he messed up but i highly doubt many reactors have the right to judge him because Dike probably lasted longer in the situations than many of them would
The men that had to follow him and saw their fellow soldiers die from his incompetence are the ones who ultimately judged him. It doesn’t make him a bad or even a weak person. It just means that he should never have held that position.
