1. My dad got me this when I was much younger, didn’t really understand the themes and the depressing backgrounds as much as I do now in which holds a special place in my heart for one of my favourite shows and quite a beautiful one at that.

2. Watching the new dub for the first time with you guys, and while I’m sure the original had problems it had charm. I’m surprised honestly how stilted everyone sounds considering how recent this dub is. Shouldn’t they be better at it than the 90s crew? Hopefully I’ll get used to it in time (and the old dub is re-released again soon)

1. Despite it’s very old school feel, the original dub was good and this one is made to follow that feeling without being too jarring to people who grew up with the og dub. My big issue with this one is that there were rumblings of concern regarding certain translation choices on behalf of the guy in charge of it. Besides a pretty important point point later, it’s also affected a random piece of world building a little later.

2. I feel the same way and really hope for the re-release of the original dub even though I think the subs are better for Evangelion.
