1. you have to remember that everything donzo did was to protect and advance the leaf his entire life, he did it in some seriously awful ways yes but that’s the point that the elders were making you need the darker side of the society too. yes he was behind the Uchiha massacre but they were about to attack and try to take over the leaf mostly because the second hokage was super racist and segregated them and you have to admit it is dark but it was the most effective way to deal with a group that have unbelievable power and were about to attack the leaf from the inside. everything he did no matter how awful was always in the leafs best interest and that is why the elder wanted kakashi the 7th because donzo in their eyes deserved the legacy of being one of the leaf legends. however I think the very nature of taking that role of the shadow should mean your content with never having that public praise for what you do and that may be tainted by the fact I hate donzo and am happy he is dead and didn’t get a stone face.

1. The Uchiha weren’t segregated into an isolated area of the village until after the Nine-Tails attack. Before that the only issue they suffered was the natural suspicion people had for any police force which was admittedly Tobirama’s fault.
